The role of ovum for gender preselection in farm animals  
Introduction Scientists focused their research to separate X or Y-chromosome bearing spermatozoa and then fertilize the ovum with preselected sperm to produce offspring of predetermined sex. Surprisingly, nobody paid attention towards the role of ovum in controlling sex of fetus. It is the first time we attempted to recognize the role of ovum in controlling gender of a fetus in farm animals. Pretentision is to discover a mechanism of sperm selection by an ovum during the process of fertilization.Pretension is that from millions of sperm an ovum makes own selection a partner sperm to complete the fertilization process. >>

Input Fairs  
One of the FAO’s preferred responses to food emergencies is the Input Trade Fair. Farmers receive a voucher, which they can exchange for seeds and other inputs that they need for a better harvest. In 2007, for example, 20,000 government-selected families in central and eastern Swaziland received vouchers that they could spend at one of 25 Input Trade Fairs. Earlier this year, FAO described these fairs as “winners”. But as the 2008 planting season gets under way, the news from Mbabane is not good. >>
